THREE DECADES OF EXPERIENCE
Upon graduating from the University of Manitoba’s dental program in 1988, he began a one-year hospital residency in Saskatoon. The following year, he purchased his first dental practice, Campus Dental Centre, in his native Winnipeg. He has been practicing dentistry for the past three decades.
EARLY ADAPTER
Dr. Hamin is one of the province’s earliest adopters of digital radiographs and believes his continuous investment in the industry’s latest technology has kept his practice on the leading edge. “It has been a latex-safe, amalgam-free and completely digital practice from inception,” he says. “If there is something new and improved – whether technical procedures or new materials – I will investigate and offer it to my patients.”

A professor at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Dentistry for more than 25 years, Dr. Hamin feels privileged to be in the position to impart knowledge to emerging clinicians and contribute to advancing the field. “The opportunity to educate myself and others drive my inner self. The ability to help change people’s lives by educating them on their oral and physical well-being is priceless.” For him, learning and development are lifelong affairs. “I want to continue my education and growth until I am physically unable to do so,” he says.

Renowned as a specialist in cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, and dental implantology, Dr. Hamin is also a firm believer in the importance of compassionate care. “I always ask myself, what would I do if this was my family member? I take money out of the equation and make treatment decisions based on the best care possible for each patient.”

Dr. Hamin is a proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Winnipeg Dental Society, the Academy of Sports Dentistry, Canadian Dental Association and currently practicing at the Westbrook Dental group.
